Celebrity plastic surgery stories abound both online and off. Some celebrities openly admit to their physical improvement and others stick to their stories of denial. Either way, these icons definitely have an influence on which plastic surgery procedures become popular.

Women should really look at why they are having their cosmetic surgery procedure. If it is simply to enhance your appeal that is fine but if you are doing it out of a sense of self hatred some inner soul searching may be in order.

This is especially true for teenage girls. More and more teenage girls are opting for plastic surgery. Where before most of these girls went for nose jobs, now they are expanding into breast surgery, liposuction and more.

According to the Washington Post, “From 2002 to 2003, according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the number of girls 18 and younger who got breast implants nearly tripled, from 3,872 to 11,326. Among all age groups, cosmetic implants have skyrocketed in popularity, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Last year, according to the ASPS, about 247,000 women got implants for augmentation, compared with 32,000 in 1992.”

Celebrity surgery is something that these susceptible teenage girls look to to define their own body image. Can you imagine the surge in plastic surgery if Miley Cyrus admitted to having plastic surgery done? According to a recent plastic surgery article,” Teenage girls report pressure to live up to sexual ideals…According to the report, A Generation Under Stress?, two in five felt worse about themselves after looking at pictures of models, pop stars and actresses in magazines.”
