Are Botox Injections Safe?

Botox injections seem to be one of the hottest new ways of getting rid of the fine lines and wrinkles that we dislike so much. However, Botox is not a miracle drug and patients who are looking for Botox injections should be aware of the positive and negative affects as well as doing their research to find a qualified professional. Otherwise, Botox has been one of the favorite small plastic surgeries that celebrities find very useful before premiers. There is little recovery time and the process is rather simple. Also, Botox injections save many people from having to have major plastic surgery such as a facelift. Therefore, these injections help to delay having other facial operations and make people feel younger by erasing the fine lines.
For those people who are not quite sure exactly what Botox injections are, the process and the positive and negative effects of it, then you can learn about it here. The Botox injections normally are used in order to eliminate fine lines such as wrinkles, crows feet by the eyes and frown lines near the mouth. Botulinum Toxin Type A is used in the Botox Injections which are placed into the motor nerve endings to relax the facial muscles. These injections offer temporary relief from wrinkles. These treatments, depending how the patient’s body reacts to them, can last anywhere from three to nine months.
If Botox is properly administered, then there is little to no risk of danger. If there are any side effects, they will last up to six months but are temporary because Botox is a temporary treatment. Some of the side effects from Botox include headaches, bruising on the site of the injection, respiratory infection, slight eye lid drooping, nausea, flu symptoms or a common cold, muscle weakness and paralysis of certain face muscles. Once again these side effects are uncommon and the highest percentage rate is a three percent chance in which many of these side effects occur in less than one percent of patients.
Botox can be rather expensive depending on how many areas that you need injected and how your body reacts to the treatment. For each area that Botox is injected, it will cost anywhere from $250 to $500. If you are looking to maintain the look, then at the worst you may be paying $2000 per year for the Botox injection in one area. However, if you find an injection for $250 and the treatment lasts all nine months than you can be looking to pay $500 for two years. However, if you just want to spruce up for a weeding or a reunion, then it is possible to just have a one time Botox injection.
Botox can be very beneficial to shaving off a couple of years and making you look wrinkle free. There is little risk associated with Botox but you need to make good decisions in order for this to be true. Therefore, you should avoid doctors who are not licensed of that come to your house to inject Botox. You should also be paying between $250 and $500 so Botox injections that cost $50 may not be Botox at all. Also, do not go to Botox parties as many times the “Botox” that is used is not Botox at all and can result in permanent facial defections or even death.
